Web Writers with SEO Experience

We are currently seeking part-time, freelance digital writers who have at least 3-5 years of experience with:

  • Content specifically written for online use: You need to write with energy and flavor. We pride ourselves on writing content that produces results for our clients.
  • Information Architectures: You should know how to take strategic information and create an easily navigable structure.
  • Stakeholder interviews: Working with subject matter experts and mining their knowledge for creative, juicy details makes the best kind of writers.
  • Style guides: Our goal is always consistent and coherent content.
  • SEO keyword tools: You need to know how to research the way people search online.
  • Plain language: The hallmark of all of our writers is the ability to take a complex topic and make it understandable and compelling.

Editors

We are recruiting experienced, part-time, freelance editors who have at least 3-5 years experience with:

  • Content specifically written for online use: You need to work with writers to write useful, interesting content for online audiences. We pride ourselves on writing content that produces results for our clients.
  • Plain language: Our writers are trained to take a complex topic and make it understandable and compelling. It’s your job to ensure their content is readable, relevant and follows Web writing best practices.
  • Copyediting: You do the quality check on content, ensuring accuracy from grammar and spelling to facts and stats.
  • Style guides: Our goal is always consistent and coherent content.
  • SEO: You need to know how to use keywords and edit content so it’s optimized for search engines.

Director of Business Development

The business development professional at Aha Media Group has five major objectives:

  1. Find leads and pursue them till close or rejection
  2. Sell products and services
  3. Coordinate with marketing to make sure messages are in alignment (some of the activities below dovetail with marketing)
  4. Create thought leadership pertinent to the marketplace
  5. Suggest new products and services based on current trends in the marketplace

Are you right for the job?

You’ll fit in well at Aha Media Group if:

  • You have always been called scrappy, creative, an out of the box thinker, or described as “having moxie”
  • Have experience doing business development for a small and growing business (about 30 people)
  • Have a relationship-building style
  • Operate well independently but enjoy collaboration (this is a super must)
  • Understanding of digital strategy
  • Know something about complex industries like financial services, hospitals, healthcare or health insurance
  • Are excited and also relish the challenge of taking a small business to the next level

Here’s what you’ll be responsible to do:

Business Development

  • Develop relationships with current and potential clients, as well as partner agencies
  • Look for major trends in the industry to share with the executive and marketing teams
  • Maintain our CRM
  • Create detailed reports and assign KPIs to our BD efforts
  • Work with internal teams to identify potential new product lines
  • Reach out to current customers for referrals
  • Recommend local networking events related to content and healthcare that internal staff should attend

Marketing (Shared with a Marketing Manager)

  • Plan the editorial calendar with marketing, picking topics that are important to the content, financial services, insurance and healthcare industries
  • Identify conferences appropriate for our audiences
  • Build partnerships with other agencies in the space to co-create thought leadership pieces

You absolutely MUST have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3-5 years working in business development
  • Strong understanding of the digital strategy environment
  • Experience working in small companies
  • Can-do attitude
  • Healthcare or hospital industry is a must, not a plus

This is a tele-work position. You will be expected to travel 8-10 times a year to conferences and clients.
