Emily has worked as a science writer and editor for a number of nationally recognized outlets, including Insider, Vox, Verywell, Healthline, and GoodTherapy. She excels at explaining complicated medical subjects in an accessible and empathetic way, creating content that serves patients and healthcare providers alike.

Emily earned her master’s degree in writing from California College of the Arts. She graduated cum laude from Kenyon College with a bachelor’s degree in English. She also has a Board of Editors in Life Sciences certification. When she’s not working, she enjoys stone carving and walking through nature in her hometown of Kansas City, Kansas.
