At Aha Media, we’re always reviewing and improving our content. But every three years or so, we recommend taking a really deep look—analyzing every page, every paragraph, and every click.
This time, we turned that process on ourselves. We knew it was time for a full content refresh to make sure our website reflects who we are today and serves our audience even better. Here’s a look at what went into our site redesign and the lessons we learned along the way.

It’s tough to critique your own work, especially when it means looking for holes and inconsistencies. But content audits are necessary to find new opportunities. We asked ourselves tough questions like, “Is this how our audience searches for this information?” and “Does this page really matter?”
With these questions as our guide, we reviewed every page, every paragraph, and every line of text. It’s like a digital game of kiss/marry/kill. What do we keep, merge, or remove?
It’s a meticulous process, but the clarity it brings is worth every minute. Our content strategy team made sure that everything we kept or created had a purpose and aligned with what you, our readers, are looking for.
Our goal was to balance “choose-your-own-adventure” with “direct flight.” By organizing the site around real customer questions, we created easy, intuitive paths to answers. We wanted you to feel guided, without being overwhelmed by options.
