Director of Business Development

The business development professional at Aha Media Group has 5 major objectives:

  1. Develop relationships with potential clients and agencies
  2. Find new leads and relationship opportunities
  3. Nurture the sales cycle until closure
  4. Promote Aha Media as a content leader
  5. Suggest new products and services based on current trends in the marketplace

  • A proven self-starter who has been successful both hunting and farming without a lot of other sales support
  • Experienced doing B2B business development for a small and growing business (healthcare or hospital industry a plus)
  • A relationship-builder who’s dynamic, warm and authentic
  • Able to operate well independently but enjoy collaboration with a cross-functional team (this is a super must)
  • Prepared for a long sales cycle
  • Interested in growing a company, not just being a salesperson

Here’s what you’ll be responsible to do:

  • Develop relationships with current and potential clients as well as partner agencies
  • Look for major trends in the industry to share with the executive and marketing teams
  • Maintain our CRM and recommend other sales tools with a proven ROI
  • Create detailed reports and assign KPIs to our BD efforts
  • Work with internal teams to identify potential new product and service lines
  • Reach out to current customers for referrals
  • Identify conferences and other networking events appropriate for our audiences

You absolutely MUST have:

  • Track record track record of networking, prospecting and driving sales through to closure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3-5 years working in business development
  • Strong understanding of the digital strategy environment
  • Experience working in a small company
  • Can-do attitude

This is a tele-work position. You will be expected to travel 10-15 times a year to conferences and clients.

Scheduler

We are recruiting a part-time scheduler (15-20 hours per month). The scheduler is responsible for scheduling stakeholder interviews with clients. This is a telework position that reports to the Director of Content Development.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with internal team members (project managers and writers) and clients’ stakeholders
  • Coordinating writer and stakeholder schedules and documenting progress in project management tools
  • Sending meeting invitations to writers and stakeholders via email calendar system
  • Handling meeting cancellations and rescheduling
  • Providing additional administrative report to the project management team, if necessary

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. You will be coordinating the schedules of individuals with highly variable availability.
  • Keen attention to detail. There are a lot of moving pieces. You will be for aligning all the details so stakeholder interviews go off without a hitch.
  • Ability to roll with the punches. Writer availability will change. Stakeholders will need to reschedule interviews. It’s your job to help find the next best time for the meeting to take place.
  • Strong sense of professionalism. You will be communicating with busy stakeholders in high profile positions and their administrators. We want scheduling to run as smoothly as possible.
  • Experience using web-based tools, such as Microsoft Outlook and Excel. You will be using a variety of software to get your job done. This includes emailing and scheduling interviews with Microsoft Outlook, entering data in Microsoft Excel, and communicating with internal team members via Basecamp, a project management tool.
