Ann Key, Aha Media Group’s resident SEO whisperer, loves to “nerd out on content strategy.” As Content Strategy Team Lead, Ann trains and manages a team of strategists, consults with clients to build omni-channel content strategies and helps guide Aha Media’s internal marketing and strategy efforts.

Ann worked in news before finding her way to healthcare digital marketing. “I didn’t set out to do this job because none of this existed when I was studying journalism at the University of Alabama,” she says. As content has evolved, she’s evolved with it. Ann stays on top of the fast-paced industry by reading newsletters and blogs, listening to podcasts, attending conferences and collaborating with her Aha Media colleagues. “We love diving into the latest trends, and we’re not afraid to push each other,” she says.

Among the trends she’s keeping an eye on: How can healthcare organizations improve analytics while protecting patient privacy? How can merging organizations develop a singular brand while preserving legacy website content and information architectures? And what’s the best way to optimize content for generative AI tools and search generative experience (SGE)? Ann also leads an internal task force focused on integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency and SEO impact (while still standing behind human-written content).

Ann is a certified digital marketing professional, with credentials from the American Marketing Association (a Professional Certified Marketer or PCM) and the Digital Marketing Institute (a Certified Digital Marketing Professional or CDMP). When she’s not thinking about content best practices, she’s usually outside with her family — sailing, kayaking or camping near their home on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
