Joel Cessna has an extensive background in sales and marketing — but don’t describe him as a salesperson. “Think of me as a resource for your content and healthcare marketing questions. I’ll point you toward the solutions you need, whether or not that’s something I can provide directly,” he says. “I can’t sell you a product unless I believe it’s the best solution for your organization.” 

At two previous healthcare marketing organizations, Joel was responsible for growing business development processes and scaling up sales teams to reach more clients. Most recently, he worked with a company specializing in online advertising for health systems, where he helped grow the organization from 6 employees to 350. In the process, he developed a deep network and reinforced his commitment to healthcare marketing. “This industry is truly special,” he says. “It’s always about helping patients. We all share the common goal of wanting to put the right information in front of patients at the right time.”

Joel has a degree in management from the College of St. Scholastica and a master’s in management/project management from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He lives in the Twin Cities area with his family. Away from his desk, he enjoys trips to Las Vegas or the beach and relaxing at his family’s Wisconsin lake cabin.
