Katie Riley has worked as a writer, editor, and content contributor for health magazines, consumer health websites and healthcare organizations. Earlier in her career, as a certified personal trainer, she contributed fitness content to popular magazines and websites, including Real Simple and Self.com. Katie began her career at Prevention magazine. Before relocating to Rhode Island, she was a senior editor at UC San Diego Health.

Katie graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BFA in creative writing. She spends most of her time keeping up with her young son and daughter, and reading as much as she can.
