Keightley (K8ley) Amen has worked in medical communications for more than 20 years, serving as a writer, editor, and project manager. She is passionate about translating complex information for patients and families so they can navigate their health and wellness and serve as their own advocates. Over the course of her career, she has worked closely with hospital systems, universities, nonprofit physician and nurse societies, and communication agencies.
Keightley graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and French with a minor in international studies. She holds certifications from the American Medical Writers Association and the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences.
Originally from New York, Keightley lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her husband, four children, and Bichon Bella. For fun and wellness, she also teaches group exercise classes at the YMCA.
