Sarah Hudgens began her editing career in public health and medical advertising, where she discovered a passion for empowering people to make educated decisions about their health. As a health content editor, she focuses on clarity and accessibility, fiercely advocating for lay readers. Over her nearly 20-year career, she has also taught English composition to college freshmen, served as the poetry editor for a literary journal, and edited dozens of books for university presses.

Sarah holds a BA in sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MFA in creative writing from the Inland Northwest Center for Writers at Eastern Washington University. She lives just north of Austin, Texas, with her wife, two spoiled cats, and an unreasonable number of plants.
