Home Our Work Case Studies ANA Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Blog
Healthcare pros don’t want generic wellness tips — they want firsthand accounts from their peers. See how the American Nurses Association (ANA) leveraged the strategic value of storytelling.
Nurses experience some of the healthcare industry’s highest rates of burnout, injury, and emotional strain. ANA’s Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ (HNHN) initiative focuses on improving nurse health and wellness across the country, with a cornerstone blog that educates, empowers, and builds community.
ANA partnered with Aha Media Group to develop blog content that would resonate with nurses who are busy, wary of generic wellness messaging, and often convinced they “don’t have time” for self-care.
Aha Media helped the HNHN blog reach new levels of organic visibility and engagement. The blog sustained strong readership throughout the year, reaching nurses through traditional search, AI-powered results, and direct visits.
One featured nurse even shared that their spotlight on the ANA blog led to new professional opportunities and connections. The blog is a platform for both educational content and professional visibility. This is community-building in action.
Our work contributed to the blog hitting an all-time high of 1,300 organic page views one month, with steady traffic in the following months despite broader search volatility.
Blog content appeared in Google SERP features and AI Overviews, ensuring that even zero-click searchers are exposed to ANA’s messaging.
The blog’s direct traffic shows that nurses not only discover ANA’s content through search but also return to it.
ANA’s Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation blog received an award in the Content Creation and Management category at the 2026 MASHSMD Healthcare Excellence Awards.
The HNHN blog blends expert-driven articles, clinical perspectives, and peer spotlights to stand apart from traditional wellness blogs, which often rely on generic advice.
For nurse spotlights, we used open-ended interviews to uncover the challenges the nurses faced, what helped, and what they want their peers to know. Then we shaped those conversations into engaging stories that preserved each nurse’s voice.
Healthcare pros, B2B buyers, and patients all have stories worth telling. We’ll help you uncover and write stories that resonate.
