Freelance Content Strategists

Aha Media Group is seeking freelance content strategists to join our growing team of remote content experts. Aha Media is a leading content strategy and content marketing consultancy with deep healthcare experience. Our clients include academic medical centers, health systems, hospitals, and healthcare technology and medical device companies.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading content strategy projects within the healthcare industry (B2C or B2B). A successful person in this role will go above and beyond, every time.

What you would do

The freelance Content Strategist will lead content strategy projects for our clients, with support from our Director of Content Strategy and the account team; activities may include:

  • Content strategy consulting
  • Execute audit and discovery projects, including website and channel audits, SEO audits, competitive gap analyses, and conducting stakeholder interviews
  • Lead or collaborate with other strategists on auditing website content for large website migrations or redesigns
  • Create content marketing strategies, including omni-channel digital strategies, search optimization strategies, and targeted campaigns (for lead-gen, awareness and/or lead nurturing)
  • Create messaging and content governance artifacts, including website sitemaps, information architectures and page templates; messaging frameworks for brand, product and/or campaigns; voice and tone guidelines; personas for content development and content journey maps; and editorial calendars
  • Create and deliver virtual presentations (PPT), lead virtual workshops or talks with clients and external audiences.

Who you are

  • Highly curious and an analytical thinker
  • Established freelancer with 5+ years of communications / marketing experience at a healthcare organization or organizations (B2C and/or B2B, including hospitals and health systems, healthcare technology/software, med tech or med device, academic medical centers, biotech, etc.)
  • Comfortable interviewing stakeholders and subject matter experts and presenting to client teams via video call platforms like Zoom
  • Highly collaborative; you work well with others
  • Experience creating and presenting slide decks; must have access to Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, decisive environment where you’ll have autonomy.
  • A full-time freelancer with a U.S. social security or tax ID number
  • Willing to commit to work at least 10 hours/week on Aha Media Group projects and available for some meetings or interviews during standard business hours

As an Aha Media content strategist, you go through a streamlined onboarding process to learn our systems, workflows, and best practices, with hands-on training during your first assignment with us. You will have continued subject-matter support from our director of content strategy, and project support from your account executives and project coordinators. You also will be invited to join the professional development webinars we host for our internal team on relevant content marketing topics. These opportunities help ensure our team stays current and hones their craft.
